Andromeda Community Theatre presents "Spreading It Around" by Londos D'Arrigo, the hard-hitting comedy writer for Phyllis Diller, Lily Tomlin, and Joan Rivers.  This show is directed by Joanne Williams.

Angela Drayton, a wealthy widow living in an up-scale retirement community, is tired of handing out money to her unappreciative children. So she starts the "S.I.N. (Spending It Now) Foundation," to give to those truly in need. This terrifies her greedy son Larry and his wife, Traci-with-an-i, driving him to devise a plan to have Angela committed. This poignant family comedy has played to numerous theatres in the US and Canada and continues spreading the laughs around.

Dinner will consist of a choice between either Champagne Chicken or Roast Beef (choose by ticket), with Yukon gold potatoes, vegetable, salad, rolls, and dessert. (If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions contact us; we have options: 269-262-1943.)

With each show Andromeda Community Theatre will give away a floral surprise, courtesy of Roseacres Greenhouses in Charlotte (located at 620 W Harris St).

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man … a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.” ~Rod Serling

In this production directed by Michael Hays, Andromeda Community Theatre applies these iconic words from Rod Serling to a pair of scripts by Christopher Durang.  As the audience’s ordinary world fades away, the world of imagination takes over as we witness a troupe of actors propelled into a parody of not-quite “The Glass Menagerie” in Durang’s “For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls”.  These same actors somehow end up in “The Actor’s Nightmare”, where confusion abounds as a hapless stand-in attempts to cover for a missing actor.

The audience will witness comedy and pathos; drama and perhaps even tragedy in this production.
